Pennyaire

I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I hoped, but the free Siren 17, named Pennyaire by my wonderful wife, finally got some fresh paint after tediously removing the damaged old decals. I also tackled removal of the severely rusted bolts holding both the outboard mount and what was probably swim ladder mounts onto the transom. It involved both PB Blaster and liberal use of an angle grinder with cutoff wheel, sprinkled with lots of profanity. At first, I wondered why the previous owner wouldn't have used stainless fasteners since he sailed on Ninigret Pond which is salt water, but then I recalled he got it from a friend who had the boat on a freshwater lake in Vermont and I suspect the fasteners date from that time.
